![]() ![]() Psalm 24:1 "The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it " Even more than that, I need to be an example of love to show my children the character of Christ. When I read this verse, I’m reminded to love my children as Christ loves me. As I have loved you, so you must love one another." John 13:34 “A new command I give you: Love one another. When He is the center of our life, we will parent from a place of Godliness without much effort. Matthew 22:37 " Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind."Īs I mentioned earlier, we need to love the Lord FIRST. Even though it may feel like just parenting, it’s truly one of the most important jobs the Lord has entrusted us with. God created you to be a parent long before you were even born. “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Sometimes we get caught up in doing what is “right” instead of looking to Christ for guidance. It’s so important to remind ourselves that we need to seek Him first, especially when raising children. ![]() Mathew 6:33 "But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." Just as he disciplines us, we must do the same for our children. Proverbs 29:17 "Discipline your children, and they will give you peace they will bring you the delights you desire."Įven though you may not want to discipline your children, know that this is what the Lord has called you to. It’s our job to follow what the Lord has called us to The Mission of Parenting. God knew we were ready to guide and direct these children in the way of the Lord. 4. GENESIS 18:19 " For I have chosen him, so that he will direct his children and his household after him to keep the way of the Lord by doing what is right and just, so that the Lord will bring about for Abraham what he has promised him.”Įach of us were chosen to be parents. This verse reminds me to not only forgive my children and my spouse for their sins, but being kind and compassionate to myself as well. Often, I find myself beating myself up for my reaction. It’s easy to become frustrated with our children. Ephesians 4:32 " Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you." No matter how hard parenting may feel God has compassion for us! 3. I love this verse because it reminds me that each day is a fresh start to start over again. They are new every morning great is your faithfulness." Lamentations 3:22-23 " Because of the Lord’s great love, we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. In those hard moments, when you are struggling with fear and worry use this verse as a reminder that you CAN trust in Him. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him." We must be prepared for all the things parenting brings and most of all that we keep God in the center of our lives. Whether you are a new mom or you have a few kiddos, this journey is one of the Lord’s greatest callings on our life. Maybe this means encouraging them in the things they are interested in or simply leading in an example of Christ. My hope as a parent is to guide my children to become the people God made them to be. We were forced to make decisions without much time to even realize the new role we were in. This whole parenting thing came at us so quickly. Because she was in the NICU, I was overwhelmed with fear and worry. ![]() Just hours after my daughter was born, I found myself searching for scripture about parents. With that being said, most of us need some encouraging Bible Verses for parents to keep us motivated throughout this journey. The love that God instilled in us for our children is unlike any other. You will feel everything from overwhelming joy to paralyzing fear. There are so many emotions that come along with being a parent. ![]()
